‘Tis the season for lots of extra work for many of us including the folks that deliver all of my packages.
I saw an idea similar to this on Pinterest a few years back and started the tradition last year as a way to say “Thank You” to those working extra hours to deliver mail and packages. I could not imagine the amount of travel and traffic our courier deals with just to deliver packages. Much less, the amount of patience it would take to get through the holiday season.
This post includes a free printable sign and ideas to fill your goody basket.
Just a few things to think about as you add items to your “Thank You” basket. Couriers are always on the go so a little thoughtfulness goes a long way.
- Drinks with lids or flip tops work best.
- Do not leave out anything that will spoil.
- Consider the weather when picking a good spot to keep drinks and snacks dry.
- Put snacks in a basket or something with a lid to keep animals out.
Drink and Snack Ideas
- bottled water
- bottled soda
- energy shots
- individually wrapped candy
- individually wrapped cookies
- snack size bag chips
- pre-packaged beef jerky
the list is endless….
I put our basket out on days that we have scheduled deliveries so snacks don’t get stale and take it in at night after all of our deliveries have arrived.
And, don’t forget that couriers will be working beyond the Christmas and in to the New Year for deliveries and returns.
