Hi, it’s nice to meet you!
If you are here on my About Page, chances are you are looking to learn a little more about me.
Here are a few fun facts:
My name is Sarah. Yes, there is an unspoken rule to ask if you meet a ‘Sarah’ if they are part of the ‘h’ or ‘no h’ club. Sarah vs. Sara.
- Insert the cliche ‘I love coffee’ statement here. Specifically this type of Joffrey’s coffee.
- I am not as organized in the kitchen as I would like to be.
- I’ve burnt the absolute crap (2nd degree burns) out of myself with a cup of Oodles O Noodles.
Most days my microwave is filled with a bag of goldfish crackers, a loaf of bread and a half eaten cookie cake. My sink does not know what it feels like to not have a load or more of dishes in it waiting to be washed.
I’ve spent most of my adult life working in technical support and that is my full time career. The Hot Mess Kitchen is my hobby and escape. I started this blog when I had something to say about getting second degree burns from a cup of Oodles O’ Noodles. I also wanted to tell people about how I wash empty butter containers and use them for “Thanksgiving Tupperware” when company comes over. That was back in 2015.
Since then, I’ve started a second website and shared many more stories here on The Hot Mess Kitchen about recipes, kitchen tips & tricks. I’ve even put together a few “food videos” showing you how I make my favorite Tex Mex Turkey Chili and use an old Costco milk jug to make a kid friendly watering can.

Where the magic happens
More often then not, you’ll find me in the kitchen with family preparing meals! We love to create new things together and enjoy traditional family recipes!
Where you can find me!
When I’m not in the kitchen, you can find me sharing our travel stories or finding a new restaurant in town. I love sharing my day to day on Instagram, so be sure to connect with me there!
There is so much more to tell including how I am working to maintain a healthier lifestyle to combat a chronic, allergic inflammatory disease and how I am a few recipes shy of having a complete family cookbook. Oh! At some point I plan to cook my way through my family’s cook book filled with nostalgic Polish recipes and share them with you.
So now that I’ve gotten all of the “I’s” out of my system, subscribe to The Hot Mess Kitchen Newsletter and lets get you signed up so you never miss a beat or what’s happening. Did someone say beets? I’ve got them growing from scratch as another way to save money. Beets me why people would pay for vegetables when I can show you how to grow them from scraps in your kitchen.
OK. I will stop now. But really, subscribe to the newsletter so we can keep in touch!
