Pressure Cooker BBQ Ribs

Print Recipe
Have you ever tried cooking ribs in a pressure cooker? We just tried cooking ribs using a pressure cooker and the ribs were delicious and ready for dinner in under an hour.
I’ve cooked ribs before but the old process took a long time. I’d first boil the ribs which would make them tender, then move them to either the grill or oven to finish the cooking process adding seasoning and sauce before they were done. The pressure cooker method cuts the time in half without sacrificing quality taste with ribs.
Prep Time:10 mins
Cook Time:35 mins
Total Time:45 mins

  • 1 rack pork or beef ribs
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Tone's Chicken Base
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons garlic salt for seasoning
  • 2 cups your favorite BBQ sauce

  • Step 1: Remove the membrane from the back of the rack of ribs.
  • Step 2: Prepare the chicken base to go in the pressure cooker.
  • Step 3: Add garlic salt, salt and pepper before ribs go in the pressure cooker.
  • Step 4: Add your Tone's Chicken base to the bottom of the pressure cooker and then add trivet or steaming basket.  Cut rack of ribs to fit in pressure cooker.
  • Step 5: Use the manual setting and set to high pressure for 25-35 minutes.
If your ribs are thinner you will want to stick to a cook time between 16-25 minutes. My ribs were super thick so I needed to bump up the cook time which made them super tender.
  • Step 6: Ribs are done! Now time to take them out, add sauce or throw them on the grill for a few minutes.

You will need the following items to complete this recipe.
