Five minutes, one pan, no reason to overthink it.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 3-5 minutes
Serves: 2-4
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch asparagus, washed and ends snapped off
- 1-2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Heat butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the asparagus and cook, stirring occasionally.
- Add the garlic paste toward the end of cooking, not at the start, it burns fast and turns bitter if it’s in there too long.
- Cook until the asparagus is bright green, about 3-5 minutes total.
- Remove from heat, lightly salt, and serve.
Notes:
Bright green is your cue, not a timer. Once it hits that color, it’s done, if you wait for it to look “more cooked” you’ll overshoot it into mushy territory.
Short on time? This already is the fast option, five minutes start to finish. If you’re really in a hurry, pre-washed asparagus from the store skips even the rinse step.
